When the first produce was ready in the raised beds at Culter & District Men’s Shed the Trustees decided to donate it to a good cause.
Instant Neighbour was selected and the photo shows Trustee Malcolm Sharp handing over a selection of Maris Piper and Charlotte potatoes to Edna Ledingham of Peterculter Parish Church. Edna and her colleagues are present between 11 and 12 every Monday to receive donations for this worthwhile cause. The collectors have operated for a number of years with the need intensifying during the Covid pandemic.
A total of four raised beds have been built at the Men’s Shed at The Bush, Malcolm Road, Peterculter. Two are in use this year with a selection of vegetables including cabbage, leeks and some flowers. All four will be in use in 2022.
